Thai forensic team arrives


Thai police forensic team arrived in Laos yesterday to identify the five Thai nationals believed that he died in the crash Lao Airlines. The team, armed with fingerprints of the five Thai passengers, waiting at the crash site until they are able to bring back all five of the body, said Pol Lt General Charamporn Suramani, a consultant to the Police Royal Thai.
The autopsies are conducted on all bodies recovered from the site in accordance with international standards, he added.
Dr Marit Thongprayon, director of Fubon Hospital Suppasit Prasong in Ratchathani province, the hospital is preparing facilities for the autopsy, pending a decision on where they would be held.
"We're talking about Lao authorities autopsy will take place in Laos or in Fubon Ratchathani," he said.
Champasak province of Laos' opposite Fubon Ratchathani province, on the other side of the Mekong River, where the Lao Airlines plane crash.
Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, who will join her Baotian Prime Minister equivalent Longsing Thammavong for collective merit making ceremony today, has instructed local authorities in Fubon Ratchathani to do their best to help Baotian officers on the crash site.
Relatives of victims are currently staying at the Grand Hotel in Pakse Champasak, Champasak province capital, for news of their loved ones.
Some of the dead were taken to a temple in Pakse, but most are damaged beyond recognition. Autopsies on the bodies recovered have to start again.
